Nicholas Jones is a talented and experienced craftsman who made a substantial and varied amount of bespoke cabinetry for us when we recently moved into a newly built flat.
The major items he made for us were a wall mounted display unit with individual compartments that were each illuminated by dimmable LED lights, a floor standing unit with a retractable housing for the television, storage and built in LED lighting, two bedside tables and two mirrored bathroom cabinets and a vanity unit. He also built a rack to display patchwork quilts, an elegant frame for a mirror and installed lighting in the glass fronted top of a secretaire.
We enjoyed participating with him in the design of these objects and found him an excellent communicator and a joy to work with. The standard of finish of all his work is outstanding and he is ingenious in finding solutions to practical problems of design and execution.

Nick Jones has worked closely with us over the past few years on three significant projects. Firstly he designed and built all the cabinet work in our Paddington apartment and more recently did similar work on our Surrey home. Nicholas Jones was employed by me in 2001 to install a highly decorative solid pine bookcase and solid hardwood front doors for both me and my neighbour. His work so impressed me that upon my move to a new property in Camberwell I employed Nicholas for the whole of 2005 and his work was of a superlative standard.

We’ve had quite a bit of work done in our house in Wimbledon by Nicholas Jones over the past three years. From cupboard units including book shelves in our guest room, two walls of storage cupboards in our laundry room, 12 radiator covers throughout the house, an A/V unit in our kitchen and more storage cupboards in the garage, Nicholas Jones has done some outstanding work. We employed Nicholas Jones during 2007-2008 with a major project involving the design, build and installation of bespoke joinery/cabinet making projects on all 5 floors of our Grade A listed building in Kennington. Nicholas finished off a very complicated build in our master bedroom which involved the measuring and templating of the wardrobe doors + a secret entrance to our master bedroom on the floor below including Zebrano veneered doors.
Nicholas also designed, fabricated and built an A/V unit in our living room which included all of the wiring necessary for an overhead projector and a T.V mounted on a hydraulic lift system. The result was a stunning piece of furniture discreetly hiding all of the electronics of our A/V system.
The final works were to the lower basement where Nicholas managed to create useful storage from the chaos of wiring/pipes near our consumer unit.
Nicholas is a true professional and we would have no hesitation in recommended him/using him again. He’s also an avid cat lover and fed and watered our cat whilst we were on holiday!
